ProChem Group

The ProChem Group is a family-owned company founded in 1998 that is specialized in Custom Manufacturing and Custom Synthesis. It now operates seven locations in the Frankfurt metropolitan area, as well as in Oberthal (Saarland).

ProChem InnoTec GmbH “Höchst 2”

Since March 2026, it has been officially confirmed that the ProChem Group has acquired two additional production facilities located at Industriepark Höchst. Prior to the acquisition, the site was exclusively dedicated to the production of glufosinate-ammonium, a herbicide. Completion of the transaction is expected during the second half of 2027 following an extensive 12-month decontamination and cleaning campaign conducted by BASF.

Following the acquisition, two additional production facilities with a total reactor capacity of 740 m³ will become available for CDMO services. This expansion further strengthens the strategic positioning of the ProChem Group in the field of complex chemical manufacturing services and enhances the existing portfolio with additional large-scale, highly automated production capacities.

ProChem API-Tec GmbH Hanau

Also in 2026, the ProChem Group acquired three production facilities for pharmaceutical active ingredient manufacturing in Hanau. An additional 170 m³ of cGMP-compliant reactor capacity expands the company’s portfolio in the field of exclusive custom synthesis for the pharmaceutical industry.

Production activities are currently under implementation (as of 05/2026). The expansion of pharmaceutical API manufacturing capabilities further reinforces the ProChem Group’s position as a highly capable CDMO partner for demanding development and manufacturing projects in regulated pharmaceutical markets.

ProChem InnoTec GmbH “Höchst”

Since February 1st, 2025, the two operations “Versuchsraum 1” and “Versuchsraum 2” at Industriepark Höchst have been part of the ProChem Group. The facilities were acquired from WeylChem InnoTec GmbH together with the existing customer base and workforce from ongoing operations.

For more than five decades, these facilities have supplied the pharmaceutical, electronics, and fine chemicals industries worldwide with high-quality chemical products and extensive expertise in organometallic chemistry, complex multi-step organic synthesis, and high-pressure applications.

As one of only a few facilities worldwide, ProChem InnoTec manufactures primary polymer dispersions in accordance with stringent quality standards. Within the ProChem Group, the site plays a central role in the execution of highly specialized development and manufacturing projects requiring sophisticated process technologies.

ProChem GmbH – Dieburg Site

Since March 2009, ProChem GmbH has operated its synthesis facility in Dieburg. Covering an area of 23,000 m², the site comprises two production units equipped with numerous reactors for chemical synthesis and liquid blending processes, vacuum drying systems, and a wide range of process engineering technologies for chemical processing applications.

Through integration with an in-house steam generation system, both production areas are equipped with comprehensive thermal process engineering capabilities. Hazardous materials and solvent storage facilities enable the safe handling of complex chemical substances by highly qualified personnel.

An in-house laboratory with an integrated pilot plant allows customer projects to be supported from product development and process implementation through to production on a multi-ton scale. In addition, the site operates wastewater treatment facilities, thermal exhaust air treatment, firefighting water systems, and the required infrastructure for custom manufacturing operations.

In close cooperation with regulatory authorities and based on existing certifications, the site is capable of serving not only traditional specialty chemical manufacturers but also customers with EFfCI requirements. The Dieburg facility combines development, scale-up, and manufacturing expertise and therefore represents a key pillar of the ProChem Group’s integrated one-stop-shop strategy as a full-scale CDMO.

ProChem GmbH – Rodgau Site

Since summer 2024, ProChem GmbH has operated a production facility for food additives at its Rodgau site. The facility includes various production systems for blending, powder refinement, extraction, compaction, and spray drying, enabling the company to offer customers from the food industry a broad spectrum of contract processing services.

Several production units are equipped with air-drying systems, allowing the reliable processing of highly hygroscopic solid materials. Modern quality assurance systems as well as filling lines with protective screening and metal detection ensure consistently high quality standards.

Since 2025, the site has also been certified according to FSSC 22000 standards. With its specialization in food additives and solid material refinement, the Rodgau site strategically expands the Group’s processing and refinement capabilities for regulated industrial markets.

ProChem GmbH – Oberthal Site

Since 2000, ProChem GmbH has operated various contract manufacturing facilities at its Oberthal site in Saarland, with a particular focus on synthesis and drying technologies. The site covers an area of more than 30,000 m².

Current production hall capacity for the different contract manufacturing operations amounts to approximately 3,000 m². In addition, more than 4,000 m² of storage capacity are available for the interim storage of customer products prior to shipment.

By combining manufacturing and storage capabilities, the Oberthal site fulfills an important function within the Group’s integrated supply chain and production network, supporting the flexible execution of complex customer projects.

ProChem GmbH – Lorsch Site

At its Lorsch site, ProChem GmbH primarily serves customers from the construction chemicals industry as well as the industrial fine bulk solids and solid chemicals sectors. The site is equipped with blending, milling, screening, and packaging systems for large production volumes while also maintaining the flexibility to process smaller-scale bulk material orders.

In addition, ProChem supports customers with transloading services as well as the repackaging and reconditioning of solid materials. Toll milling operations are supported by modern analytical capabilities, including laser diffraction particle size analysis.

Together with logistics partners, extensive storage capacities for large material volumes have been secured, enabling comprehensive logistical support for customers. The site complements the ProChem Group’s value chain particularly in the areas of solid material handling, refinement, and logistics services, thereby contributing significantly to the Group’s integrated service approach.
